Missing Hollywood Movie Story:

In the archival video,  young June Allen is with her late father, James, who died of a brain tumour shortly after the video was filmed. Years later, June throws a house party after her mother Grace leaves for a week-long trip to Colombia with her new boyfriend Kevin, and tells June, to her annoyance, that Grace's friend Heather will be taking care of her. a divorce attorney who expresses jealousy of Grace's relationship with Kevin.

A week later, June is assigned to pick up her mother and Kevin at Los Angeles International Airport, but they never show up, forcing June to contact authorities. Frustrated by the FBI's apparent lack of progress, June decides to investigate on her own using a variety of digital tools at her disposal: Google Maps (where she tries to track her mother's location in Colombia), Facebook News, Internet searches, etc. . He also hires Javier, a Colombian gig worker, to fill orders from June for a small fee.

June learns that Kevin is not who he says he is. When she logs into her Gmail account, she discovers a series of aliases and eventually the criminal records of many of the women who have cheated her of their money. Believing Kevin kidnapped her mother for the money, June has Javier look for clues to her whereabouts in Colombia while she investigates. He traces Kevin's earlier movements to a location in Nevada where he talks to Jimmy, a man who claims to be a pastor at a Christian rehabilitation facility for

Ex-convicts. He tells her that Kevin has been rehabilitated and is genuinely in love with Grace. June eventually logs into her mother's online dating profile, where she learns that her mother already knew of Kevin's criminal past. He also mentions a secret from his past that he wants to share with Kevin offline. FBI

Agent Elijah Park informs June that he has received video footage of a group of criminals allegedly kidnapping Kevin and Grace in Colombia. June learns that this is a fabricated event since Kevin has hired a lookalike actress named Rachel Page to pose as his mother, who was previously kidnapped on the way to the airport. As the case makes national headlines, Rachel confesses that she didn't know what Kevin was up to when she went to Colombia with him. It's speculated that Grace herself had something to do with it, along with her own death, known as "Bien," one of her many aliases. June believes her mother is innocent, and June's suspicions fall on Heather when she discovers an encrypted communications link between her and Kevin. June sneaks into Heather's office, only to find it trashed and with her files deleted, and stumbles upon Heather's body in the storage room.

Later, June watches live footage of a Colombian police raid focusing on Kevin being shot despite his surrender. Seemingly at an impasse, June is about to give up but manages to access her mother's email, which is protected by a password that June previously couldn't guess. He tracks down a threatening email addressed to Grace, leading her to find the security cameras  Kevin bought to install in an abandoned house. Looking at the camera footage, June realizes that this is her old vacation home in Nevada. At that moment, Jimmy calls and says he has information about his mother. He soon finds himself outside June's door, begging her to let him in.

June opens the door and discovers that Jimmy is her father, James, who never died. He tells June that Grace was emotionally unstable and took her away from him after he was arrested on false charges, hiding her under a different name all these years. However, he unknowingly reveals that his time in prison was at the same time that Kevin had been serving his sentence, although he claimed they only met after Kevin's release. It turns out James was a domestic abuser whose

Drug addiction threatened them all; Grace informed June that he had died of cancer and urged Heather to support him to protect June from the truth. James then sought revenge by passing off Kevin, whom he met in prison,  as a potential boyfriend so he could find Grace and June.

James quickly kidnaps June and takes her to the old house where Grace is also being held. Grace and June are reunited, but are soon threatened by James, who shoots Grace. James tries to leave with June, but Grace, still alive, stabs him in the neck with a piece of broken glass after being shot, and James dies of blood loss. Realizing that James never turned off his laptop when he kidnapped her, June uses the cameras to tell Siri to call the police.

Several months pass after the kidnapping. Grace survived her gunshot wound and June is in college. Her story was adapted into the true crime series Unfiction and Grace became friends with Javier after June introduced her. Her mother tells her she loves her, to which June replies that she loves her too.
