You, People, is a 2023 American romantic comedy film directed by Kenya Barris and co-written with Jonah Hill. The film's cast includes Hill, Lauren London, David Duchovny, Nia Long, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Eddie Murphy. The plot focuses on a multiracial and interfaith couple, namely a white Jew and a black Muslim, and how their families deal with modern love in the face of cultural clashes, social expectations and generational differences. Around Los Angeles, two millennials meet by chance and break new ground in their love lives. 

You People was released in select theatres on January 20, 2023, ahead of its Netflix streaming premiere on January 27. It was Barris' first time directing a feature film. The film received mixed negative reviews from critics and raised questions about anti-Semitism.

Ezra Cohen, a 35-year-old realtor and podcaster, has an unexpected relationship with fashion designer Amira Mohammed. The two first meet when Amira, frustrated with her GPS navigation system, parks in front of the building where Ezra works. Ezra, mistaking Amira for his Uber driver, gets in his car, which leads to an awkward argument. Ezra makes amends by later taking her out to lunch, and the two realize that despite their differences, there is a mutual attraction as Ezra is Jewish and Amira is black and was raised by her devoted NOI parents. 

Amira and Ezra eventually move in together, much to the chagrin of her father Akbar, who prefers his daughter to date a Muslim. After six months of dating Amira, Ezra takes her to his family. Her parents, Shelley and Arnold, awkwardly state that they accept and support everyone, including their LGBT daughter, Liza. When Shelley starts talking about the BLM movement, Ezra sheepishly leads her out of the room. He confides in his mother that he plans to propose to Amira. Before Ezra can propose, his friend and podcast co-host Mo convince Ezra to meet with Amira's parents. Ezra chooses the Chicken 'N Waffles restaurant in Roscoe to speak with Akbar and his wife, Fatima. The meeting does not go smoothly as Akbar looks at Ezra suspiciously and opposes his desire to marry Amira. When Amira returns home, she tells Ezra that her mother informed her about their awkward encounter with Roscoe. However, when Ezra starts pulling out a box of rings, she urges him to make an offer and he happily accepts.

Ezra decides to quit his job at a real estate agency to pursue his true passion, podcasting. Afterwards, the couple invites both parents for dinner and discusses wedding plans. The dinner unexpectedly goes awry when the parents clash over Farrahkhan's anti-Semitic views and Shelley accidentally sets fire to Akbar's kufi. Ezra and Amira arrange one-on-one meetings with their future in-laws to ease tension. Ezra spends the day with Akbar, but Akbar constantly finds ways to undermine Ezra's confidence, criticizes Ezra's decision to give up his finances to pursue podcasting, and takes him to a hair salon where Ezra doesn't follow the dress code. Next, she takes Ezra to a basketball court in Inglewood, a predominantly black neighbourhood, and has him play open games. Hoping to humiliate Ezra, Akbar films it on his phone, but to his surprise, Ezra performs very well in the game.

Meanwhile, Shelley takes Amira to a spa for a day, but she keeps showing her ignorance, which makes her feel bad. unaware of their own microaggressions. Ezra travels to Vegas with his friends for his bachelorette party, but his anticipation for the weekend fades when Akbar unexpectedly joins the boys. Akbar insists on accompanying the men on their big night to parties at strip clubs. Ezra, aware that Akbar is watching him, does not attend the celebrations, but his temper is tested again when his friends loudly recall the lewdness Ezra used to commit in Las Vegas. Shelley and Liza accompany Amira and her friends to their bachelorette party in Palm Springs. The night suffers another embarrassment, and Shelley accidentally makes a racist remark during a board game and accidentally rips off a guest's wig. 

During the rehearsal dinner, Ezra and Amira speak privately with Akbar and Shelley, with Ezra pointing out Akbar's distrust of his true love for Amira and Amira informing Shelley of his hardline stance on race. After talking to each other, Ezra and Amira decide their relationship has too many obstacles to overcome. Feeling that they are not compatible with each other, they call off the wedding and separate. Three months later, Ezra delivers a revealing monologue on his podcast, in which he points out that black and white people can never truly understand each other's experiences, no matter how hard they try. Shelley and Akbar hear his speech and consider their actions; Akbar is inspired to contact Shelley. Under the guise of shopping, Shelley and Akbar take Ezra and Amira to the trendy store, where they both apologize for their behaviour. Ezra and Amira accept the apology and enter the retail store to find it set up for their wedding where everyone has gathered, including friends, family, the rabbi and the imam. Ezra and Amira get married and the two families celebrate.
